This position performs a variety of logistics duties, which include functions of the site supply activities utilizing company purchasing processes and/or the Naval Aviation Supply System as it applies to intermediate level maintenance.  These duties also include receiving, shipping, issuing, and stocking components, parts, and materials.  Inventories and completes data entry of inventoried and processed items.  Prepares requisitions and monitors until receipt.  Utilizes logistics automation and information systems. 

 

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 

  • Pick-up and deliver material from/to the applicable source/destination.
  • Establish and maintain stock records and files.
  • Order parts, tools, materials, and equipment as required.
  • Maintain a record of required logistics reports.
  • Initiate follow up actions for logistics issues as necessary.
  • Prepare parts and supply documentation as required to include requisitions, turn in documents, and Supply Discrepancy Report (SDR).
  • Perform validations of direct/indirect support material for work center/division.
  • Resolve discrepancies with AWP, Production Control, and ASD as appropriate.
  • Make scheduled/unscheduled parts runs to Work Centers, Production Control, and elsewhere as directed.
  • Perform technical research utilizing manuals, publications, catalogs, bulletins, internet, and directives.
  • Perform related consumable material level adjustments as directed. Submit recommended changes to management.
  • Perform required scheduled inventory functions.
  • May be required to perform other logistics duties (i.e. during periods of increased workload).
  • May be required to perform duties of HAZMAT/HazWaste Custodian or Assistant Custodian when authorized and designated.
  • May need to be familiar with all HAZMAT procedures such as SDS sheets, issue and receipt, verification, manufacture, and expiration dates, AULs and turn-in procedures.
  • Required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.
  • May be assigned to perform Pre-expended Bin (PEB) duties, and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to operate Forklift.
  • May be required to perform off-site service.
  • May be required to perform duties of HAZMAT/HazWaste Custodian or Assistant Custodian when authorized and designated.
  • Know location of safety data sheet (SDS) and applicable safety precautions.
  • May be required to perform scheduled/unscheduled inventories.
  • Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
  • Other projects and initiatives as assigned as well as other reasonably related duties when directed.

Professional Requirements, Qualifications, and Desired Competencies:

 

  • Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces supply and/or property control courses preferred.
  • Must have two (2) years’ experience in aviation supply/material control procedures.
  • Must have a valid state operator’s license and be able to pass the government licensing requirements for support equipment.
  • Obtain and maintain all applicable SE licenses.
  • Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instructions.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) CAC (Commons Access Card)
  • Certifications/Licensing as required by the Program Training and Certification Manual.
  • Certifications/Licensing as required by the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series..
  • Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
  • The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.
  • Some travel will be required.

Physical Requirements:

Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, extensive walking and working in tiring uncomfortable positions. May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed fifty (50) pounds.

 

Working Environment:

The diversity of working conditions may range from a standard climate-controlled environment where there is no physical discomfort, to a non-climate-controlled environment, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes of temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
