Bear General Contractors is a growing construction company based in Pensacola, FL, committed to delivering high-quality results on every project. We are currently seeking an experienced and dependable Dump Truck Driver to join our Site/Civil crew.


Position Summary

The Dump Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of materials and equipment to and from job sites. This role may also involve operating a skid steer or other light equipment as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and takes pride in maintaining equipment and accurate records.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Foreman/Superintendent to determine delivery schedules and load details
  • Operate dump truck safely and in full compliance with DOT regulations
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain daily equipment checklists
  • Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled and in good working condition at all times
  • Report any vehicle deficiencies or mechanical issues to the Foreman/Superintendent promptly
  • Maintain accurate and organized delivery and mileage records
  • Assist with manual labor tasks on-site as needed
  • Operate skid steer or similar equipment when not driving the dump truck
  • Uphold all construction site safety standards and protocols


Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with air brakes endorsement
  • Valid DOT Medical Certificate
  • Ability to perform a complete pre-trip inspection on an assigned dump truck
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a dump truck or similar heavy vehicle (preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to identify and troubleshoot on-site equipment issues
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.; must be able to stand, lift, and kneel for extended periods
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
