We are looking for an Estimator to prepare accurate bids for commercial construction projects in a multi-trade subcontractor environment, with direct ownership of takeoffs, scope review, pricing, and proposal preparation. This role will focus on drywall, acoustical, flooring, and metal framing scopes and requires a strong understanding of commercial construction drawings, specifications, materials, and project requirements. The Estimator will work closely with project management, vendors, subcontractors, and customers to develop complete and competitive estimates. This is a hands-on estimating role suited for a candidate with 3–5 years of relevant estimating or project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates for commercial drywall, acoustical, flooring, and metal framing projects from bid documents through proposal submission.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope requirements, quantities, and potential estimating risks.
  • Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs and develop accurate project pricing.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to support competitive and complete bids.
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, material requirements, and potential cost impacts before bid submission.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure estimates accurately reflect project requirements.
  • Work with project management and field teams to clarify scope, constructability, materials, and project requirements.
  • Maintain organized bid documentation, pricing information, and estimate records using construction or project management software.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve scope, pricing, and bid questions.
  • 3–5 years of estimating or project management experience within commercial drywall, acoustical, flooring, metal framing, or related interior construction.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and perform accurate mathematical takeoffs.
  • Experience using construction estimating or project management software preferred.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Direct commercial interior trade experience required; candidates without relevant drywall, acoustical, flooring, or metal framing experience will not be a strong fit.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other company-sponsored programs.
