Duties and Responsibilities

Design & Development:

  • Engineer mechanical systems, components, and assemblies, integrating electrical systems to meet project specifications.

Problem-Solving:

  • Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.

Prototyping & Testing:

  • Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate designs, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.

Collaboration:

  • Work cross-functionally with electrical engineers, technicians, and other departments to address project challenges and implement effective solutions.

Process Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate and refine processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Documentation:

  • Prepare detailed technical reports, schematics, and documentation for internal and external use.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure all designs and processes comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.


Required Skills and Abilities

  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with exposure to electrical systems.
  • Proven track record of working in fast-paced, high-demand environments with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and schematics, including wiring, sensors, and control systems.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience in automotive restoration or related industries is a plus.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and quality control within the automotive or similar industry. Experience in classic vehicle production, restoration, or high-end automotive manufacturing is highly desirable.


Key Performance Indicators (Performance will be tracked by the following data metrics)

  • Warranty Rate <26% (Monthly) (1Q < 30, 2Q < 29%, 3Q < 28%, 4Q <26%)
  • Time to Close Warranty < 15 days (Monthly)
  • Engineering Request In Process – Average Days Open < 60 days (1Q < 80, 2Q < 70, 3Q < 60, 4Q < 50) (Weekly)
  • Engineering Request New – Average Days Sitting < 30 days (1Q < 90, 2Q < 70, 3Q < 50, 4Q <30) (Weekly)


Physical Demands (To include but not limited to)

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking around the workspace.
  • Frequent use of fingers and hands for typing, writing, and operating a computer.
  • Using telephones, printers, copiers, and other office tools.
  • Frequent need to focus on printed or digital material.
  • Reviewing documents, schedules, or customer data with accuracy.
  • Frequently lifting heavy objects, such as tools, parts, or equipment, often weighing up to 50-75 pounds.
  • Regularly bending, stooping, or crouching to work on vehicles at different heights.
  • Moving large or heavy equipment, carts, or vehicles within the shop.
  • Precise manipulation of tools, small parts, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Exposure to loud noises from power tools and machinery.
  • Working in non-climate-controlled environments, leading to exposure to heat or cold.
  • Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals like solvents, oils, and paints. Proper PPE is often required.
  • Ensuring accuracy in measurements, assembly, and inspections.
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting mechanical or structural issues.
  • Frequent reaching above the shoulders or below the waist.
  • Maintaining physical activity throughout the day without fatigue.
  • Adherence to safety protocols to avoid injuries from sharp tools, heavy objects, or moving vehicles.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.
