About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the project management effort for a $700M+ correctional facility located along the Gulf Coast of Alabama/Florida.

This is a highly complex, multi-building project encompassing 25+ buildings and more than 700,000 square feet, including precast cell buildings, a central plant, and extensive support facilities. The anticipated construction duration is approximately three years, with opportunities to transition to additional major projects following successful completion.

The Senior Project Manager will serve as a key member of the project leadership team, providing strategic and operational oversight across the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level leadership and direction for a $700M+ correctional construction project.
  • Oversee overall project operations, financial performance, P&L, cost control, scheduling, safety, quality, and risk management.
  • Lead and mentor a large project team consisting of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, Safety professionals, Quality Control personnel, and other project staff.
  • Establish and maintain project execution strategies, schedules, budgets, and performance objectives.
  • Monitor project financials and proactively identify opportunities, risks, and potential cost impacts.
  • Coordinate closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal leadership.
  • Ensure project milestones, quality standards, contractual requirements, and safety objectives are achieved.
  • Provide oversight of project documentation, procurement, subcontract administration, change management, and closeout activities.
  • Utilize Primavera P6 or comparable scheduling software to develop, monitor, and manage complex project schedules.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect schedule, budget, quality, and profitability.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement across the project team.

This position is ideal for a proven construction leader who has successfully managed large-scale correctional, detention, prison, institutional, or similarly complex projects.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial/institutional construction experience.
  • Significant experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably $500M+.
  • Extensive experience with prison, detention center, correctional, or secure government facilities is strongly preferred and may be required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong understanding of project financial management, P&L, cost control, scheduling, contracts, risk management, and project delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong owner and subcontractor relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work full-time onsite along the Gulf Coast of Alabama/Florida.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required for project and company needs.
