Bear General Contractors is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators. We are looking for reliable, safety-minded team members interested in a long-term opportunity with room for growth and advancement.

This role will be employed through a staffing agency for the first six (6) months. At the end of that period, a performance review will be conducted to determine eligibility for transition to direct employment with Bear General Contractors.

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience

Working knowledge of a wide range of construction equipment, including well point systems, skid steers, excavators, dozers, backhoes, rollers, and more
Proven experience installing storm drain, sewer, and water utilities
Ability and willingness to perform manual labor as needed in addition to operating equipment
Construction experience: 3 years preferred
Heavy equipment operating experience: minimum 1 year required

Education & Skills

High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to safely operate a variety of heavy equipment
Ability to lift up to
50 lbs
Excellent vision (with corrective lenses if required)
Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Solid understanding of safety practices and jobsite protocols
Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
Sound decision-making skills, especially in high-pressure situations
Flexibility to work extended hours as required
