Description

Job Summary:

  • The Test Technician performs various pressure tests on manufactured parts to ensure conformance. 
  • Perform all aspects of their job within Austin Hose safety and quality guidelines. 
  • Performs pressure tests on manufactured products to ensure conformance. 
  • Packages tested parts to storage or sale. 
  • Participates and/or leads rapid improvement events to increase the productivity or efficiency of the testing process. 
  • Engages other employees to ensure work practices are as safe as possible.


Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Check joined tube assemblies for air leaks 
  • Follow standard work instructions as assigned 
  • Use clamps, fixtures, and seals to set up each job 
  • Submerge parts in warm water to visually check for air leaks (if required)
  • Meet production standards 
  • Work in an individual or team environment 
  • Inspect and assemble product 
  • Pack and prepare product for shipping-
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues (mechanical replacement of parts such as pressure pumps, thermocouples, tooling, treating iron, tubing etc.) 
  • Diagnose and resolve hydraulic issues (replacement of control valves, pumps, motors, cylinders, and hydraulic pressure hoses). 
  • Diagnose and resolve basic electrical issues (troubleshooting VFD, motors, 4-20mA and 24V sensors, and PLC and RMC controllers). 
  • Diagnose and resolve pneumatic issues (troubleshooting control valves, cylinders, vacuum systems, and basic compressor knowledge). 
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers, and auxiliary equipment. Able to rig downhole tool and put in pressure vessel or bunker by connecting high pressure tubing to the tool or fixture, perform pressure test using HMI remote control and data acquisition. 
  • Use Microsoft word, excel, TEAMS, and basic computer operation for Maintenance and Test reporting summaries for proper documentation. 
  • Ability to work and communicate well with engineers, management, and all other departments using multiple channels including verbally, electronically, and face to face. 
  • Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to or in lieu of those described above, and any duties subject to change at any time, according to the needs of the company.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment 
  • All rigging and test equipment must be cleaned, maintained, and kept in working order
  • Keep current stock of gaskets, tape and dope, bands, tags
  • Keep storages areas cleaned and maintained (staging area, Testing area, and storage area)



Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Must be a team player and motivated to learn with strong desire to take on a new challenge
