Summary:
Illinois Central College is seeking applicants for a full-time, temporary position in Mathematics to begin Fall 2026. The Mathematics Faculty coordinate, plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom instruction in a variety of Mathematics courses. The faculty support innovation, demonstrate exceptional teaching skills, and display enthusiasm, respect, and ability to work effectively with diverse students, colleagues, and staff. The academic program promotes innovative teaching, quality scholarship, diverse learning, equitable access, and educational achievement for all students.
This position will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in developmental and transfer level Mathematics courses through differential equations. Faculty must be available to teach during the day, evenings, and/or weekends as determined by the schedule of classes. The academic year base salary and rank will be determined based on the educational preparation and occupational and/or teaching experience of the successful candidate.

Essential Functions:

Teaches assigned courses and assesses learning outcomes. Courses may include developmental mathematics, corequisite instruction, technical mathematics, general education courses, and transfer level mathematics through differential equations.
Prepares syllabi, instructional materials, tests, and assessments in accordance with course master syllabi, college policies, and procedures.
Seeks professional development to remain current with discipline, emerging technology, and the latest teaching tools. Maintains professional skills through regular professional development and other activities appropriate to higher education faculty.
Works collaboratively with full-time and adjunct faculty members.
Maintains highest possible standards of classroom instruction.
Collaborates with teaching teams to connect with students, engage students in learning, assess student learning, and assist with continuous quality improvement and systematic evaluation of the mathematics program curriculum, policies, and practices.
Actively participates in the department, serves on college committees, and participates in institutional meetings.
Performs assigned duties during the day, evening and/or weekend on any assigned campus including teaching courses in different modalities.
Exhibits strong time management skills to ensure timely communication, grading, and completion of other job responsibilities.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, or in a closely related field that includes 18+ hours in graduate Mathematics coursework. (Mathematics education coursework does not count towards the 18+ hours.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
Community college and/or secondary Math teaching experience.
