Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.


Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: A Polysomnographic Trainee develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under clinical guidance of a Polysomnographic Technologist. Collaborates with the Medical Director, Leadership, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder function testing and scoring.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school diploma or GED

 

License/Certifications:

BLS certified or obtained within 6 months of hire

 

Experience:

Interpersonal skills necessary to explain procedures to patient to alleviate their apprehensions and gain their cooperation.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neurodiagnostics).

 

Experience:

6 months of direct patient care

 

Other Skills and Knowledge:

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit(s) or by their department.

This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.

Analytical skills necessary to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative statistical data and conduct diagnostic procedures.
