This position may require traveling to all of our locations. An Equal Opportunity Employer, Including Disability.   Responsibilities: The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating all aspects of hospital surgeries, office procedures, and outside referrals/testing. This role plays a key part in supporting patients and their families throughout the entire procedure process by providing detailed instructions, ensuring pre-op and post-op education, and facilitating communication between the patient and healthcare teams. The Surgery Scheduler will also manage a high volume of incoming calls, ensuring timely return of voicemails while maintaining professionalism and a customer-service-oriented attitude. This role involves working closely with patients to ensure all necessary documentation, consents, prescriptions, and pre-operative appointments are scheduled and communicated effectively.  Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Previous experience in healthcare, clinical services, or patient scheduling setting preferred. Excellent customer service skills demonstrated through prior work experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, staff, and management. Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems preferred. Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel preferred. Essential Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, management, physicians, referring providers, and co-managing doctors. Maintains a professional, respectful, friendly, and customer-focused demeanor at all times. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage patient information, documentation, orders, referrals, and follow-up. Knowledge of ophthalmic conditions, treatments, surgeries, procedures, and related terminology preferred. Ability to provide clear and accurate written and verbal instructions to patients. Ability to recognize and appropriately communicate patient concerns or issues requiring physician or management attention. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient and organizational information appropriately.
