Job DetailsJob Location: PEORIA ZOO - PEORIA, IL 61603Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $22.50 HourlyDuties: Under the supervision of the Manager of Food Services, the Assistant Manager of Food Services will be responsible for the following: Manages concession operations in the absence of the Food Service Manager.      Supervises subordinate staff, including training and directing. Assists in scheduling and evaluating as needed. Services as on-site observer, as needed, to maintain quality control of concession operations. Opens and closed registers and prepare daily paperwork. Assists with inventory and ordering as needed. Ensures guest concerns are addressed promptly and professionally. Follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Support all aspects of the Park District's safety program. Performs all other duties as assigned.   Essential Functions: The work requires periodic physical exertion in handling supplies, equipment, and materials typical of the hospitality industry. Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds are required on a periodic basis. Must have the ability to manipulate the keyboard, phone, and cash machines. Must be able to bend at the waist and knees in order to file and stock. The indoor work environment is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Periodic outdoor work will expose the incumbent to a wide range of weather patterns and environmental surroundings.QualificationsEducation: A degree in business, hospitality management, or a closely related field is preferred. Exceptional service record in the field may substitute for part or all of degree preference. Certification: ANSI approved food manager and BASSETT certifications or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in food sales and customer service. Additional experience of personnel management, inventory control, and bookkeeping is preferred. Knowledge and Ability: Great customer service and organizational skills. Computer and POS experience required. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests.
