Title: Line Cook (w/at LEAST 3-5 years industry experience) - Culinary School or Education, a plus
50 Hours/Weekly (looking for a Line Cook who has the desire to grow into a Chef role)

Location: Perry Hall, MD

Compensation: $20-$23/hour

  • Food Preparation: Line cooks are responsible for preparing ingredients, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces or other components of dishes.
  • Cooking: They cook food items on the line during service, ensuring that each dish is prepared according to the established recipes, cooking times, and portion sizes. This may include grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, or other cooking methods.
  • Quality Control: Line cooks must maintain high standards of quality and consistency in food preparation and presentation. They are responsible for ensuring that all food leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant's standards for taste, appearance, and temperature.
  • Timing and Coordination: In a busy kitchen, line cooks must work efficiently and coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure that all orders are prepared and delivered in a timely manner. This requires good communication and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Line cooks are often responsible for keeping their workstations clean and organized, as well as following proper food safety and sanitation procedures. They may also assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety Regulations: Line cooks must comply with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures, as well as maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Flexibility: Depending on the size and type of establishment, line cooks may be required to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility and availability during peak hours are often necessary.
