Job Description
The IS Forming Machine Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of technical support for North American glass manufacturing facilities, specifically in the area of forming electronic systems.Â
This position will provide on-site support for commissioning of field equipment in support of regional Engineering Projects. The role will also be responsible for tracking and managing critical regional forming electronic spares.
Responsibilities:Â
- Become proficient in O-I forming electronics technology such as: COM-SOC, servo control system (SCS), Integrated Drive System (IDS), Forming Supervisory Computer (FSC), Production Recording System (PRS), Electronic Sweep-out (ESO), Gob Weight Control (GWC) and Multiple Inverter Control Cabinet (MICC).
- Serve as the NA support specialist to monitor and answer the regional forming electronics hotline.
- Provide technical and onsite support and training for regional installations of forming electronics systems.
- Assist in the management the North American forming electronics spare parts inventory.
- Provide support to North American engineering teams such as: equipment specification development, drawing construction package generation, bill of materials, equipment costing, scope generation)
- Provide for regional capability building through training of engineering staff and plant personnel in the technical center as well as in the plant.
- Participate as regional leader for the global network team and drive improvement in the regional networking teams and structure.
Travel:Â
30% travel (75% will be domestic / 25% international)Â
Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in a technological field (electrical, electronics, mechanical or controls preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in one of the required technical fields
- Experience developing and reviewing technical specifications to support vendor selection, bid evaluation, and procurement of process control systems and equipment
- Proven experience leading others to change and improve technical processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience and involvement with capital projects desired
- Process Control experience desired
- Glass plant experience desired
- Auto CAD preferred

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position will be between $120,000 - $135,000, with a potential 10% STI. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
