QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at an adequate level.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Must be able to read a ruler to 1/16ā€.
  • Strong Troubleshooting skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Have strong teamwork skills to foster workplace interactions.
  • Dependable attendance and demonstrate flexibility to work other hours as needed.
  • Willingness to learn and perform basic Extrusion Technician duties on primary line. Some examples learned through the training process are: start up line, shut down line, and fix basic defects (die air marks, vacuum marks, bow, width, length, Dyne level, etc.)
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all workplace guidelines to ensure our products meet customer requirements.
  • Monitors weight variations of product.
  • Must be able to develop aptitude to learn extruder functions to make basic adjustments on equipment as needed.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives by filling out forms that help enhance the work environment, encourage machine efficiencies, and promote cost savings.
  • Work closely with shift Senior Lead Extrusion Technician to ensure highest level of quality.
  • Troubleshoots line abnormalities with help from the shift Senior Lead Extrusion Technician.
  • Supports the safe operation of our equipment by performing assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Ensures all reporting paperwork is correct.
  • Completes skid packaging such as wrapping and banding.
  • Identifies machine safety hazards and upholds safe practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
  • Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
  • Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.
  • Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
  • Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or explosives.
