POSITION TYPE:  Full-Time


 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Payroll Clerk provides clerical and administrative support to the payroll function by maintaining employee payroll records, entering and updating time and attendance-related information, organizing and scanning payroll documentation, and assisting with payroll reporting and file management. This role supports the payroll team by ensuring employee data, timekeeping records, and payroll documents are accurate, complete, and properly maintained while handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN HUMAN RESOURCES:

  1. Provide administrative support to the payroll department through data entry, document management, recordkeeping, and general clerical assistance.
  2. Enter, update, and maintain employee payroll-related information in payroll, HRIS, and timekeeping systems.
  3. Assist with tracking employee status changes, wage updates, deductions, and other payroll-related information for proper documentation.
  4. Prepare payroll reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation for payroll, HR, accounting, and management as needed.
  5. Scan, file, and archive payroll documents in both electronic and paper filing systems.
  6. Assist with benefits administration as required.
  7. Support timekeeping administration reviewing, updating, and approving time and attendance records.
  8. Help ensure required payroll forms and supporting documents are received, completed, and submitted on time.
  9. Maintain strict confidentiality of employee personal data.
  10. Provide cross-functional administrative support to payroll and HR, teams as needed.
  11. May perform other duties as required based on departmental needs

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Previous administrative, clerical, office support, or data entry experience preferred.
  2. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  4. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  5. Strong communication and customer service skills.
  6. Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
  7. Willingness to learn payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and internal payroll procedures.
  8. Familiarity with payroll software, HRIS systems, or timekeeping platforms preferred.
  9. Experience maintaining employee records and working with confidential information.
  10. Basic understanding of payroll terminology, employee records, and administrative processes.
