THE OPPORTUNITY


Louisiana Cat is seeking an Assembly Technician-Electrical to join our growing operations at the New Iberia, LA location. The role of the Assembly Technician- Electrical is to ensure assigned packaging performance objectives are met safely, on schedule, and within budget.


YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  •  Electrical wiring of control panels, harnesses and interconnected equipment for engines and generators to meet customer requirements
  • Understand technical drawings, specifications of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
  • Inspect completed power system and controls installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
  • Determine nature, extent and troubleshoot issues, and recommend remedial measures
  • Utilizes corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to enter time and project notes
  • Follow and enforce all safety rules and procedures; identify and report all safety issues 
  • Complete training requirements identified by Caterpillar to earn and maintain job specific training certifications as required
  • Embrace and support quality management system initiates to achieve a continuous improvement environment 

MOST IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent
  • PREFERRED: 2 year degree or equivalent electrical experience
  • REQUIRED: Capable of understanding electrical schematics and recognizing basic electrical components
  • REQUIRED: Basic wireman skills
  • REQUIRED: Able to use and understand a digital multi-meter 
  • REQUIRED: Capable of routing marine and petroleum armor cable and terminating in panels
  • REQUIRED: Capable of bending conduit and stainless steel tubing

  • SHIFT SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 40+ hours a week.
