A Pre-Scale Operator is responsible for measuring proper quantities of raw material for use in production. This position plays a crucial role in the logistics and manufacturing processes and requires attention to details. Effective pre-scaling is a step essential in meeting our quality and food safety standards. Managing ingredient LOT numbering and tagging as well as working with company ERP system. 聽
Requirements
聽聽ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
路 Sets up and operates all equipment in an assigned area.
路 Placing loose or packaged raw materials on scales, adding or removing portions of the material to obtain the specified mixture.
路 Utilizes Netsuite to create Workorders as needed
路 Prints Batcheets according to weekly program schedule聽
路 Prints and identifies labels for each WIP聽
路 Understands using FIFO for ingredients
路 Documents waste and follows return of ingredient protocols聽
路 Read work orders and/or recipes and record in real time and comply with food safety policies.
路 Understands warehouse ingredients and LOT numbers聽
路 Communicates or escalates issues immediately聽
路 Works together in a teamwork environment聽
路 Reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members and shift leadership.
路 Adheres to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, regulations and use of PPE.聽
路 Maintains a clean and safe workspace which includes general housekeeping in all areas of production and additional areas assigned by plant leadership.聽
路 Demonstrates the aptitude and skill in math and reading
路 Follows established sanitary production guidelines and all GMP for the work area. Understands products, allergens, and methods to ensure safe, quality food.
路 Performs other related duties as required.聽
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
路 Good oral and written communication skills; prefer Spanish/English bilingual.
路 Computer skills familiar with Netsuite systems
路 Communicates effectively and accurately, both verbally and in writing. (English & Spanish).
路 Reliable and honest
路 Shows good judgment, sound reasoning, and good decision-making skills.
路 Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to accurately record results.
路 Ability to work Monday through Friday and at times Saturdays, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
路 2 - 3 years of related experience working in food manufacturing. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience.
路 Previous material handling in food industry required.聽

- Frequently 聽聽聽聽聽reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, carries, and pushes.
- Regularly 聽聽聽聽聽required to twist and turn body while standing.
- Occasionally required to 聽聽聽聽聽climb, balance, kneel or crawl.
- Continually required to talk 聽聽聽聽聽or hear.
- Continually utilize visual acuity to operate 聽聽聽聽聽equipment and manipulate product.
- Regularly required to 聽聽聽聽聽lift/push/carry items up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up 聽聽聽聽聽to 50 pounds.
- Regular exposure to moderate to loud 聽聽聽聽聽noise consistent with a manufacturing operation.
- Frequently required to wash hands.
