Server – Full-Time | Culinary Services
Join RiverMead's Culinary Services team as a Full-Time Server, bringing warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality to every meal we serve. In this role, you'll be part of creating memorable dining experiences for residents and guests throughout our community, from private apartments and cottages to villas and our Health Center.
RiverMead is a mission-driven, not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community dedicated to enriching lives through culture, connection, and lifelong learning. We're committed to delivering exceptional, whole-person lifecare and health services while being responsible stewards of our resources — and to doing so in a workplace where our team feels genuinely supported.
As a Server, you'll be hands-on in every part of the dining experience: taking orders, delivering meals, managing diet requirements, and keeping our dining spaces spotless and welcoming. Your attentiveness and professionalism will help make mealtimes something residents look forward to each day.
What You'll Do:
- Greet residents and guests warmly across all dining venues, promptly serve water, and take drink and meal orders with care.
- Deliver meals with accuracy and polish, matching the appropriate service style and pacing for each setting.
- Uphold standards for food temperature, quality, and presentation — including required temperature checks and logs.
- Build strong working knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, and allergen information so you can answer questions with confidence.
- Get to know residents' individual tastes and dietary needs, offering thoughtful menu recommendations along the way.
- Reset and clear tables promptly between courses, keeping place settings and flatware properly arranged.
- Keep dining rooms, service stations, and equipment clean, organized, and safe; help set up and break down for special events and private functions.
- Mentor and help train new members of the dining team.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments, as needed, to deliver a seamless dining experience.
- Manage your time well to keep meal prep and delivery on schedule.
- Respond to any service or food-related concerns quickly, courteously, and in keeping with our hospitality standards.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of high school education completed
- Comfortable following both verbal and written directions; legible handwriting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of people
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach to work
