Function & Responsibility
Leads activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing Inventory and preparing shipments. Ensures the quality of the product up to delivery through identification, handling, packaging and storage. Leads by example and is used as a knowledge resource.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas
- Backs up the department in compiling records of unfilled orders; posting weight and shipping charges
- Issues written and oral instructions when applicable
- Maintains inventory accuracy – Identification, Location and Quantity
- Maintains quality thru Packaging, Handling, Storage and Preservation of product up to delivery.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency within the department and the subordinates
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances
- Adjusts errors and complaints
- Ensure that warehouse facilities are kept clean.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the packaging storage area.
- Take initiative for identifying areas of improvement within the department and working with management in resolving problems that arise.
- Follow stablished departmental policies, procedures, objectives and safety standards.
- Maintains inventory accuracy – Identification, Location and Quantity
- Adjusts errors and complaints
- Ensure that warehouse facilities are kept clean.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the packaging storage area.
- Take initiative for identifying areas of improvement within the department and working with management in resolving problems that arise.

- Ability to work with team members.
- Ability to take direction from supervisor.
- May provide training to other team members.
- As a lead has the ability to perform all duties with limited supervision and may assist workers with difficult tasks or situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Strong organizational skills
- Skilled in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, and in developing and maintaining positive relations with others.
- Proficient in PC computer software.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with team members.
- Ability to take direction from supervisor.

- Proficient in PC computer software.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school degree.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in handling the responsibilities outlined above.
