Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Girard College - Philadelphia, PA 19121Position Type: Regular Full TimeEducation Level: High School/GEDSalary Range: $23.69 - $23.69Job Category: General LaborUnder direction of the Chief Engineer or supervisor undertakes maintenance tasks involving plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical work. Candidates are expected to have knowledge and experience in HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical work with significant expertise in at least one of these areas. Plumbing & Electrical experience preferred.  Repairs and maintains a variety of services normally associated with the building envelope Properly prepares area or items for painting, including surface preparation, masking areas as necessary, removing fixtures and covering furniture. Applies paint efficiently using appropriate tools and cleans equipment when finished. Requires preparing, setting up, and moving scaffolding and ladders. Performs basic HVAC service, such as belt and air filter replacement, condenser cleaning, etc. Performs minor electrical repairs under supervision, including replacing outlets and switches. Performs lighting retrofits and fixture replacement under supervision. Constructs, repairs and maintains structures, equipment, partitions, etc. using wood and/or metal components. Plumbing tasks include drain cleaning, trap replacement, flush-o-meter repairs, fixture installation, water cooler repairs, etc. Makes building repairs involving concrete, plaster, drywall, roofing materials, minor concrete, etc. May perform related tasks such as replacing window glass and repairing drop ceilings. Must be available for On-call emergencies after normal business hours. Make repairs and perform maintenance to journeyman standards. Provide service to campus customers in a pleasant, efficient, and professional manner Operate and maintain College equipment, tools, and vehicles in a safe, efficient, and appropriate manner.  Use appropriate hand or power tools in the performance of mechanical duties. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required, advanced learning preferred. Minimum five years of appropriate training and/or experience, particularly in the use of appropriate tools and power tools. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop, and work in confined spaces. Valid driver’s license required. Â
