Ballinger is seeking a Designer II to collaborate with team members through the complete design and construction process. This position specializes in the design and planning of healthcare, academic and research facilities, working closely with architects and engineers to develop design concepts and translate them into detailed drawings and specifications.


Position Responsibilities

  • Conduct design related research
  • Interface and coordinate with other disciplines
  • Develop knowledge of Ballinger’s project types (health care, academic/lab/research, corporate/workspace) through on-the-job experience, repetition, and scalability of tasks and responsibilities
  • Produce 3D renderings
  • Pick up redlines in a documentation set
  • Provide mentorship and actively share knowledge
  • Create and maintain Firm technical standards


Technical/Professional Skills

  • Interpersonal skills combined with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-starter, able to independently generate design solutions and provide direction to other team members
  • Ability to take direction within a larger team
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, or other modeling software applications
  • Ability to define targeted expertise


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Architecture or equivalent; BS or BA degree in Interiors or knowledge gained over years of work experience; or MArch
  • Entry level or up to Five years of experience
  • In the final stages of working toward your Professional Licensure (RA)

Location:

This role is based in our Philadelphia, PA headquarters at 1650 Arch Street with three (3) days per week in office and a flexible, hybrid work schedule.
