Assistant Superintendent Job Summary:

Job Description: The Assistant Superintendent is responsible to the Site Superintendent for the site logistics, Procore administration, and onsite subcontractor management for the Piazza Alta Phase 2 overbuild project. To meet this primary goal the Assistant Superintendent will hold regular subcontractor meetings and liaise between the subcontractors and the Senior PM/Super to affect contract scopes. The PM will implement and build upon estimation templates, create and submit RFPs to potential bidders, manage and track RFIs, hold scope meetings, and bring contracts to execution.

Wage Status: Exempt (Ineligible for overtime)

Job Responsibilities:

Project Knowledge

• Gain complete fluency in the Architectural, Structural, Civil, and MEP plans

• Meet and build relationships with the subcontractors, Post Brothers team members, and 3rd party inspection agencies

• Attend NCCCO rigger training and forklift operator training once scheduled by the Post General Contracting safety manager 

Job logistics and scheduling

• Communicate project schedules to subcontractors to meet short term goals of 1-week and 1-month look aheads

• Status subcontractor progress against the project schedule, and provide subcontractors real-time feedback to ensure schedule is met

• Manage site trucking and delivery logistics, planning ahead with subcontractors to avoid site logistics issues

Site General Conditions

• Perform daily walks of the site interior, and exterior. The site must always look 100% presentable. If any deficiencies are present which appear unsightly or unsafe, schedule remediation immediately. Laborers should be tasked to meet these needs.

If no laborers are present, issues shall be address and performed directly

• Constantly monitor fences, barriers, signage, and other general conditions items.

Any deficiencies shall be corrected immediately

• Enforce trash removal policies for all subcontractors. Coordinate with Revolution

Recovery to schedule tubster and dumpster pickup times. Communicate these times

to subcontractors and ensure trash is conveyed down via hoists or crane for

removal Project Management

• Actively maintain and enforce OSHA standards along with the Post General


Contracting Safety Manager

• Document deficiencies real-time by tagging the drawings and adding photos in Procore – assigning actions to the appropriate subcontractor, team member, or professional to make corrections

• Conduct weekly subcontractor foreman meetings onsite for subcontractors under direct purview

• Actively communicate with leadership the project risks, opportunities, cost events, and schedule events


Physical Requirements

This position requires significant time in the field. The Assistant Construction Superintendent must be able to walk active construction sites, climb stairs and ladders, stand for extended periods, access multiple floors, inspect work in progress, and respond quickly to field conditions. The role may require being on your feet approximately 75% of the day and performing physically demanding duties as needed.
