Job Responsibilities and Requirements

The Associate Project Manager will be required to take overall responsibility for a limited number of internal and external (customer) small to medium sized projects. Role requires full life cycle project delivery experience for small to medium sized projects from requirements through software development and User Acceptance Testing. Projects will be challenging but achievable staffed with interdepartmental teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Associate Project Managers have IT PMO leads support in the delivery, escalation, risk mitigation and scope management of all projects. This position will collaborate with internal and external business partners to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Deliver small to medium sized strategic or non-strategic projects successfully to meet time, quality and cost targets, realizing measurable benefits and thereby ensuring satisfied customers.

  • Management of activities of the project delivery teams to ensure deliverables are completed within timelines, budget for agreed scope

  • Create/maintain projects management related documents to help effective project delivery

  • Provide regular and timely reporting of project progress to the project sponsors and stakeholders

  • Delivery project by following defined project/delivery management policies/best practices

  • Maintain frequent and detailed communication with all members of the team to ensure clarity at all times.

  • Identify, communicate and where necessary escalate deviations from plan without unduly affecting the stated objectives, benefits, and maintain clarity.

  • Proactively manage foreseen project risks and mitigate issues as they arise, implementing corrective actions.

  • Support other Project Managers by taking on supervised support tasks on larger projects, as and when necessary.

  • Execute lessons learnt process to maximize learning during and after the projects execution seeking delivery team/stakeholder feedback and implement any corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.

  • To undertake any other project management duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • PMP/Agile certification preferred

  • 2 years Project Management experience managing technology and software development related small to medium sized projects required.

  • Demonstrated project management skills and success, including cross-organizational initiatives, including familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

  • Able to demonstrate practical experience of managing a project as the Project Manager with financial and overall delivery responsibility.

  • Good people management, a team player and pro-active with a “can-do” attitude are essential to deliver the job fully along with eagerness to learn

  • Pro-actively identifies and prioritizes the key issues involved to facilitate the decision making process.

  • Strong business acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas and new types of projects

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are essential to establish a good rapport with stakeholders develop a strong and constructive relationship with the delivery team.

  • Resilience is required during the pressures of project delivery and in such cases as conflicting priorities including where customer satisfaction is proving difficult.

  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to balance the need to gather detail with the need to solve the problem

  • Advanced PC skill, including SharePoint administration, MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel

  • Sets personal development goals and deploys strengths to achieve them. Takes responsibility for own performance and actions, and incorporates constructive feedback from a variety of sources.

  • Effectively uses technical project and delivery management tools

  • Experience in the Insurance industry a plus

Ability to Travel: Up to 10%


 

The expected hiring range for this position is $71,990.00 - $96,100.00 annually for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.


Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
