Bench Jeweler

Hitched is hiring an experienced Bench Jeweler to join our team at our Headquarters in Old City, Philadelphia. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about quality craftsmanship and creating beautiful fine jewelry that reflects our brand standards and our customers’ stories. As a Bench Jeweler at Hitched, you will play a crucial role in the success of the company. This position is ideal for someone with leadership capabilities, strong bench skills and high quality standards. You will be responsible for a range of projects including repairs and finishing work, while collaborating with our production and design team to ensure an exceptional end product that meets timeline and aesthetic expectations. As the company continues to grow, you will be responsible for hiring and mentoring entry-level bench jewelers to join our team. This is an hourly week-day only position with the potential for extended hours/overtime during peak seasons. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work with a variety of metals including gold and platinum
• The following jewelry repair skills are a must
  • Ring resizing for gold and platinum rings
  • Ring polishing gold and platinum rings 
  • Stone tightening for gold and platinum rings
  • Prong retipping for gold and platinum rings
  • Miscellaneous tasks such as soldering, chain and clasp repairs, etc.
• The following finishing skills are a must
  • Center stone setting (diamonds and gemstones)
    • various prong styles, including talon prongs
  • Melee setting (diamonds and gemstones)
    • french-pave, prong, channel and other basic settings
• Diagnose repair needs and execute appropriate solutions
• Maintain consistency and quality across all benchwork
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient workspace
• Communicate clearly with production team regarding repairs and timelines
• Follow company procedures and quality standards at all times
• Show leadership ability and capacity for growth

YOU ARE

• A passionate advocate of the Hitched brand
• An experienced bench jeweler with 3+ years of experience
• Experienced in working with fine jewelry materials, including gold and platinum
• Willing to go above and beyond to ensure goals and deadlines are met
• Willing to learn and adapt to the needs of the company 
• Willing to take a bench test demonstrating current skill level
