The Communications & Marketing Intern supports Philabundance’s Communications & Marketing team by assisting with content creation, storytelling, digital engagement, and outreach initiatives that advance the organization’s mission to drive hunger from our communities. This role provides hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, marketing campaigns, and brand management while amplifying community impact, volunteer engagement, and partner stories across multiple platforms. The intern will collaborate closely with members of the Communications & Marketing team and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistent, engaging, and mission-aligned messaging. Primary Responsibilities: Content Creation & Storytelling Assist with creating content for social media, email newsletters, blogs, and website updates. Support storytelling efforts by highlighting community impact, volunteer experiences, and partner stories. Draft and edit written materials including social media captions, short articles, flyers, and internal communications. Help maintain brand voice, tone, and visual consistency across all communications materials. Digital & Social Media Support Assist with content scheduling and day-to-day social media engagement, including monitoring comments and messages. Conduct research on communications trends, digital best practices, and peer nonprofit organizations as needed. Campaigns, Events & Outreach Support marketing campaigns, special initiatives, events, and outreach efforts as assigned. Assist with coordination of communications materials related to community events, volunteer initiatives, or partner programs. Administrative & Team Support Provide general administrative and creative support to the Communications & Marketing team. Assist with organizing files, drafts, content calendars, and project materials. Perform additional duties as assigned in support of Philabundance’s mission. QualificationsQualifications and Experience: Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree program in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related field preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools. Basic understanding of branding, storytelling, or content creation principles. Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; familiarity with design or social media tools is a plus. Interest in nonprofit work, community engagement, or social impact preferred.
