Join a team supporting high-impact infrastructure, facility, renovation, and capital improvement projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. As a Construction Manager, you will oversee complex construction programs and projects from planning and design through construction and closeout. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with clients, contractors, design teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders to deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.


About Your Role

The Construction Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects within occupied and operational facilities. This role manages contractors, schedules, budgets, project documentation, quality, and safety while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations. The Construction Manager coordinates closely with internal stakeholders, design teams, consultants, vendors, government agencies, and contractors to maintain facility standards, regulatory compliance, and quality throughout all phases of construction.


Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized college or university preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience may be considered.


Preferred Certifications

  • CMAA Certification preferred.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) through IFMA preferred.
  • Additional construction management, project management, or industry certifications are a plus.


What You'll Need to Get the Job Done

  • Ten (10) years of recent professional experience in construction administration, design review, and management of architectural plans, finishes, specifications, and construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of design, construction, renovation, and rebuilding techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex facility construction projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Experience organizing and directing outside resources, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project controls, quality assurance, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies, procedures, project requirements, and applicable building codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare written materials tailored to the audience and purpose.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to organize and facilitate group meetings, project coordination meetings, and collaborative discussions.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and competing demands.
  • Ability to establish goals, develop project strategies, and drive projects through successful completion.
  • Ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey as required based on project needs.

What Will Make You Stand Out

Certifications / Licenses

  • CMAA Certification preferred.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) through IFMA preferred.
  • Additional construction management, project management, or industry certifications preferred.


Software Experience

  • Microsoft 365.
  • Procore.
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360.
  • Experience with other construction management, scheduling, estimating, or project management software is a plus.


What You’ll Do

  • Oversee construction of new facilities and renovation of existing facilities to ensure compliance with applicable governmental codes, specifications, project requirements, and client expectations.
  • Ensure permits, bonds, approvals, lien waivers, and project closeout documentation are properly secured and completed.
  • Provide oversight throughout all phases of construction, from project planning and groundbreaking through final completion and occupancy approval.
  • Monitor project quality, budget, schedule, safety, and compliance through regular site visits, inspections, and contractor coordination.
  • Identify and communicate cost-saving opportunities, value-engineering opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Assist with the review of engineering, building, architectural, and site design documents prepared by architects and engineering firms.
  • Coordinate with clients, leadership, design teams, consultants, contractors, government agencies, utility providers, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to maintain project schedules and resolve issues.
  • Advise leadership regarding project status, operational improvements, risks, challenges, and team effectiveness.
  • Communicate recurring project issues, resource requirements, and training needs to management.
  • Assist with site evaluations and development of building and construction cost estimates.
  • Review proposed change orders for accuracy, cost validation, scope alignment, and supporting documentation.
  • Review contractor payment applications and verify collection of required lien waivers and supporting documentation.
  • Verify completion of corrective actions identified through commissioning reports, inspections, punch lists, and quality reviews.
  • Assist with mentoring, training, and professional development of team members.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of project documents and company information.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
