Designing AI-powered systems requires more than good technology, it requires conversations that feel clear, helpful, and human. As a Conversational Designer, you’ll help shape how people interact with AI-assisted experiences by crafting thoughtful dialogue, guiding agent behavior, and designing conversational flows that help users accomplish real tasks.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, product owners, and developers to create AI-driven interactions that are natural, predictable, and aligned with brand voice. Your work will influence how complex systems communicate with people, making sophisticated technology easier to understand and use.

Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Write clear, natural conversational copy for AI-powered experiences, including prompts, responses, fallbacks, and task-based dialogue
- Design conversational flows that guide users through multi-step interactions across AI systems and digital channels
- Develop instructions and prompts that shape how AI agents behave, reason, and respond within complex workflows
- Translate brand voice and tone frameworks into conversational behaviors that feel human and consistent
- Define AI personas and behavioral guidelines that support coherent and trustworthy user interactions
- Map dialogue paths and recovery strategies to help users navigate complex systems successfully
- Collaborate with designers, product owners, and engineers in fast-paced product sprints to refine AI interactions and improve the overall experience
What You Bring
- Experience writing for conversational interfaces such as chatbots, AI assistants, or voice systems
- Ability to craft original conversational copy for AI agents rather than relying solely on AI-generated drafts
- Strong UX writing or product content background with experience designing content within digital products
- Experience designing conversational flows, including intent mapping, dialogue paths, and error handling
- Ability to translate brand voice and tone guidelines into conversational interaction patterns
- Comfortable reviewing work to maintain clarity, consistency, and usability
- Strong systems thinking and an ability to connect complex product interactions into clear conversational experiences
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving, with comfort working through ambiguity alongside designers, product partners, and engineers
- Curiosity about emerging AI technologies and how they shape user experiences
Nice-to-Haves
- A background in linguistics, writing, psychology, communication, human-computer interaction, or a related field
- Experience writing scripts or screenwritingÂ
- Exposure to consulting, agency, or other client-facing environments
- Previous work creating or refining experience in the customer service spaceÂ
