What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:
- Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, and other daily living activities.
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals and maximizing independence.
- Implement Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs), service plans, and behavioral support plans.
- Teach and reinforce daily living, social, communication, and adaptive skills.
- Administer medications and implement prescribed healthcare programs in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or overall well-being.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Provide transportation and accompany individuals to appointments, employment sites, recreational activities, and community events.
- Encourage meaningful community participation and social engagement.
- Complete accurate documentation of services, incidents, and individual progress.
- Participate in training programs, team meetings, and collaborative service planning.

Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to complete all required training and certification requirements
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Commitment to providing high-quality, person-centered services
Preferred
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field
- Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, behavioral health, or other special needs
- Experience implementing individualized service or behavioral support plans
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Schedule based on program and staffing needs
- May include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Flexible availability may be required to support individuals served
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist with up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and assist individuals throughout the workday
- Ability to travel within the community as needed
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
