SUMMARY
The Driver plays a critical role in supporting MANNA’s mission by ensuring the timely, safe, and accurate delivery of medically tailored meals (MTM) to clients across the Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey regions. This position serves as a key point of contact with clients, representing MANNA with professionalism, compassion, and respect while maintaining strict standards for food safety, vehicle maintenance, and client confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â
- Delivery Operations
- Safely operate MANNA vehicles to drive assigned delivery routes and distribute meals according to prescribed dietary modifications and client choice in an accurate and timely manner
- Utilize routing software on a MANNA-issued smartphone to navigate routes, contact clients, and maintain delivery records
- Adapt routes as needed to accommodate traffic, weather, or special delivery considerations
- Communicate proactively with the Transportation or Operations team regarding delays, incidents, or route challenges
- Adhere to all applicable PA and NJ traffic laws and safe driving practices
- Verify delivery accuracy and ensure all meals are distributed to the correct recipients
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and monitoring of refrigeration temperatures
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect client confidentiality
- Client Interaction & ServiceÂ
- Provide professional, courteous, and empathetic service to clients during all interactions
- Serve as a positive ambassador for MANNA, reinforcing trust and reliability
- Use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to address delivery issues or client concerns in real time
- Observe and report relevant client needs or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Vehicle Maintenance & ComplianceÂ
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of MANNA vehicles, including both cab and refrigeration units
- Complete vehicle inspection logs twice daily, documenting mileage, condition, and temperature controls
- Promptly report maintenance issues or upcoming service needs to supervisors
- Distribution Support
- Assist with packing, staging, or organizing deliveries when needed
- Support distribution or kitchen operations during non-delivery time, as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet delivery deadlines
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to team communication
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous delivery, transportation, or customer service experience preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Primarily field-based, operating delivery vehicles throughout the service area
- Ability to drive for extended periods (6–10 hours per shift)
- Ability to read and interpret information on paper and digital devices (including smartphones)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to climb stairs and walk to and from client residences
- Work performed in varying weather conditions

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
All offers of employment with MANNA are contingent upon the successful completion of a standard credentialing process, including a criminal background check, driving record review, and drug screening. These screenings are subject to annual re-verification as a condition of continued employment.
SALARY: $20 an hourÂ
BENEFITS: Health insurance, FSA, Pre-tax Commuter Spending Account, Life insurance, Disability insurance, 401(k) plan with match, PTO up to 12 days in year one plus 5 sick days, 11 paid holidays plus two ‘floating’ holidays per year, and 3 Special PTO days.Â
