About You

You are a hands-on, mechanically inclined professional with experience in general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. You take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, prioritizing and executing repairs efficiently. Detail-oriented and reliable, you are committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning facility. You communicate effectively with employees, tenants, vendors, and contractors at all levels, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time. Organized and dependable, you track maintenance activities and respond quickly to urgent or after-hours needs, while taking pride in continuously improving the facility’s operation and appearance.


Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and overall functionality of the organization’s facilities. This role performs routine and preventative maintenance, addresses minor repairs across multiple trades, and ensures the building remains safe, clean, and fully operational. The position also coordinates with external vendors for specialized services, supports emergency response efforts, and maintains accurate records of maintenance activities. Through a proactive and hands-on approach, this role plays a critical part in ensuring a well-maintained environment that supports business operations and employee experience.

 

Key Essential Functions

•      Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment

•      Troubleshoot and perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs

•      Replace light bulbs, batteries, filters, and fixtures as needed

•      Coordinate and supervise service providers for more complex repairs (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical)

•      Communicate maintenance needs and progress with internal stakeholders

•      Perform snow removal and de-icing during inclement weather

•      Respond to facility-related emergencies and assist with urgent repairs

•      Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules
