Role Summary
Free People is seeking a Temporary Design Coordinator who will support the Design Team across Collection Sweaters and We The Free Sweaters teams with administrative duties and tasks as needed in support of the creation process, development and execution of own brand product across Sweaters and Knit classes.
Role Responsibilities

- Maintain an active role in the weekly CFT Meetings. Take notes and manage follow up communication on all outstanding issues in collaboration with Designers and PD teams.
- Tech Pack creation and updates: Create style numbers following PD’s allocation chart, ensuring comprehensive completion of all style details.
- Input sketches, design packs and trims to BOM after passed by design.
- Maintain and update starter pages, incorporating accurate labels for sweaters and swits categories across both Collection & We The Free classes.
- Partner with PD on the status of styles in development daily to ensure product execution meets design specifications and are on track in style development process.
- Prepare development packages and participate in follow up communication with vendor.
- Own shipping and tracking packages for the Sweaters category.
- Review incoming garments with Designer and PD partners to ensure they are correct and in line with original intent as well as brand standards and update TS accordingly.
- Update bulk approvals in Tradestone in partnership with Production/PD and design teams.
- Assist in sample preparation for monthly sketch and sample review meetings by collaborating with Designers on innovative presentations that effectively communicate the line to Buyers and Brand leaders.
- Help organize and propose new processes or tools to help design team meet upcoming design deadlines.
- Perform special tasks as needed.
Role Qualifications

- Strong sense of organizational skills and passion for a fast speed environment
- Proactiveness and self-motivation is a must for this role
- Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Strong and effective communication skills are required to interact with designers, buyers, and other CFT partners
- Excellent relationship building skills and ability to intuitively respond and reprioritize as needs shift during the development process
- Design tools knowledge that are a nice to have: PLM, Figma, Generative AI Assistants (Gemini, Claude)
- Entry level technical knowledge of apparel construction.
- Entry level knowledge design processes
- Ability to clearly communicate
