The Packer Avenue Marine Terminal is operated by Greenwich Terminals LLC and is one of the most productive terminals in the United States.

The facility employs 12 highly productive and safe in-house labor crews and offers 19 start times which creates greater flexibility for vessel departure and arrival times.  This adds up to cargo being moved faster, discharged faster, and saves distributors time and money.

This is a managerial role overseeing shop floor operations, mechanics, and support staff, with supervisory responsibility for daily workflow, personnel training, and vendor/contractor relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage parts inventory – purchasing, receiving, stocking, and shipping
  • Handle billing – purchase orders, verifying deliveries, and processing paperwork
  • Establish and maintain vendor accounts
  • Serve as point of contact for contractors as needed
  • Manage internal maintenance systems – assign/distribute tablets, train mechanics, review and correct completed work orders for accuracy, and track all equipment/assets

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Foreman with monitoring radio/phones for breakdowns as needed
  • Assist with job delegation to union members
  • Manage mechanics performing services at the adjacent rail yard
  • Provide basic IT assistance for shop personnel – tablets, computers, printers, cell phones, etc.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Maintenance and parts knowledge recommended
