Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Material Handler to join our team and support distribution activities. In this role, you will ensure materials are pulled and managed according to standard operating procedures. You will play an important part in maintaining accuracy and compliance in material handling processes. This position offers the chance to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment where your contributions make a difference.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:15pm
Location: Philadelphia, PA - This is a union position
100% Onsite
The Role
- Load, unload, and move materials within S&D or M&P facilities and campus in a safe and compliant manner
- Accurately scan inventory to locations using a handheld scanner
- Shrink-wrap material and pallets in preparation for transfers and shipping
- Transfer material between storage and shipping areas using a box truck (No Commercial Driver’s License required) and deliver packages to off-site destinations if needed
- Ensure materials are in correct storage environments by reading orders and identification labels to locate or relocate inventory
- Read and verify information for any discrepancies on shipping documents
- Perform all other duties as assigned
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to perform tasks in multi-temperature environments (between 30°C and -20°C) using appropriate personal protective equipment
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a safe and compliant manner
- Perform repetitive and physical tasks for extended periods
Preferred Skills & Background
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment
- Previous forklift driving experience
