Sonic Summary

The position assists the Registered Nurse by performing delegated patient care activities and observing patient conditions.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and be currently enrolled in a National League of Nursing accredited professional nursing school.
Preference is given to those who have completed the first semester of their junior year in a BSN program with a medical-surgical clinical rotation.
The job requires adherence to departmental policies and accountability to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities.
Basic Life Support certification is required, and the salary for this position is competitive, though not specified in the job description.

Assists the Registered Nurse by performing patient care activities delegated to the unlicensed nursing support professional as well as additional specific functions for which he/she has been prepared. Observes and reports the functioning of equipment, the results of treatments, condition of dressings and any change in patient condition. Incorporates the concepts of the Hospital's Guest Relations Program into all aspects of patient care activities (i.e. confidentiality, responsiveness, caring). Accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities. Adheres to policies and procedures of the department.

Education
