The Project Superintendent provides leadership and assists with functions related to the onsite constructionÂ
process in planning, coordination and execution of work on time and within budget. Position includes directÂ
supervision of foreman, subcontractors, and other construction related personnel within parameters outlined byÂ
the project team while maintaining a safe work place.Â
ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
SafetyÂ
• Enforce the DAVIS Safety program in accordance with DAVIS Policies and Processes, local, state, andÂ
federal laws to include all subcontractors and employeesÂ
• Implement, maintain, and enforce a site-specific project safety orientation program in accordance with allÂ
DAVIS Safety Standard Policies and Processes, local, state, and federal laws to include all subcontractorsÂ
and employeesÂ
• Prompt abatement of safety issuesÂ
• Obtain and maintain current certifications for First Aid, CPR and OSHAÂ
Technical KnowledgeÂ
• Utilize the construction schedule, material status log, and associated costs to achieve completion ofÂ
project within time and budget allocatedÂ
• Work with Project Manager on critical submittals prior to submissionÂ
• Coordinate daily construction activities within existing operating facilitiesÂ
• Review overall project budget with Project Manager; work within budget parametersÂ
• Perform a thorough scope review of any extra subcontractor work tickets to evaluate completeness andÂ
quality prior to signing and submission to the project managerÂ
• Understand Owner contract terms to be aware of risks, review with project management teamÂ
• Utilize subcontract terms and know how they apply to various situations on a project
• Perform basic layout and engineering functions, as requiredÂ
• Review all purchase orders and subcontractor contracts including review and knowledge of scope ofÂ
workÂ
• Contribute to the preparation of and actively participate in internal, owners and subcontractorÂ
meetings, and partner with project manager to develop and run foreman meetingsÂ
• Work with project manager to ensure material procurement aligns with schedule, utilizing materialÂ
status log, and the submittal processÂ
• Perform, monitor and document all jobsite control reporting measures including daily reports, payroll,
quality reporting, accident and incident reports, and timesheetsÂ
• Perform a qualitative review of all contract documents for potential conflicts, ADA requirements,Â
tolerance requirements or quality issues to mitigate riskÂ
• Execute a thorough review of submittals, shop drawings, and requests for information (RFI’s), includingÂ
coordination with contract documentsÂ
• Ensure and / or perform existing conditions survey prior to the start of construction activities; provideÂ
report to project teamÂ
• Confirm all products and materials meet the approved submittalsÂ
• Maintain a complete, current and accurate set of contract documents and “as-builts”Â
• Assist DAVIS project manager in the development of site logistics and sequencing diagramsÂ
• In conjunction with schedule updates, record the actual start and completion dates of each taskÂ
• Responsible for the maintenance and documentation of the workmanship by using DAVIS projectÂ
controls, such as Latista, Microsoft Excel, or another software applicationÂ
• Provides three week look ahead schedule on a weekly basis to Project Management TeamÂ
• Obtain competitive pricing for all general job site needs to control costs and ensure alignment with theÂ
project budgetÂ
• Develop and execute project team’s plan for monitoring the completion of the punch list and coordinate
all required field inspections with local jurisdiction and 3rd party inspectorsÂ
• Participate in the project closeout process with preparing and completing the job close out check lists,Â
punch list process, collecting and issuing project close out documentationÂ
• Review, understand and ensure that all local labor requirements are metÂ
• Document with photographs of general progress and issues of the project and save on server
• Perform other duties as assignedÂ
Quality of WorkÂ
• In collaboration with office operations staff, utilize the DAVIS Quality Management system in theÂ
execution of the project, including creating and managing quality control and deficiency logs utilizingÂ
Latista, or similar softwareÂ
• Review submittals to ensure work installation complies with the contract documents and in accordanceÂ
with DAVIS standards
• Review scopes of work to ensure work installation complies with subcontractor agreementsÂ
• Ensure overall subcontractor compliance with schedule, quality control, production requirements,Â
material deliveries, in accordance with the subcontract agreementÂ
• Enforce DAVIS’ sustainability standards are being enforced and managed on the project, such as LEEDÂ
• Responsible for adherence to Best Practices; educate other team membersÂ

• At least two (2) years construction experience*Â

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00DAVIS is committed to providing our employees with a competitive total compensation package that enhances your quality of life.
