Birch Agency is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team! $2,000 sign-on bonus!

The Registered Respiratory Therapist carries out daily tasks in the Respiratory Services Department and its satellite locations, adhering to established policies and operating under general supervision. Specializing in areas certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care, the RRT conducts patient assessments, administers therapeutic procedures, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes. They provide specialized care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders, manage ventilators, and work closely with healthcare professionals to enhance respiratory function and overall health. This position also offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus!

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and other life-support equipment.
Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, pulmonary function tests, and airway assessments.
Respond to emergency situations such as respiratory distress or cardiac arrest and assist with resuscitation procedures.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Assist with airway management procedures, including intubation and suctioning.
Educate patients and families on respiratory care, treatment plans, and equipment use.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and hospital protocols.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient care.

Required Qualifications:

Certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner or hold a temporary permit by the PA State Board of Medicine.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
