About the Laboratory

The Pacifici Laboratory investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying skeletal development and disease, focusing on synovial joint formation, heterotopic ossification, fibrodysplasia ossificans progressive (FOP), and hereditary multiple exostoses (HME). Our research combines developmental biology, genetic mouse models, and translational approaches to uncover disease mechanisms and advance novel therapeutic strategies.

Ongoing Projects:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Regulation of Skeletal Growth and Regeneration:Investigating whether growth plate dysfunction can be rescued through targeted pharmacological approaches.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Pathogenic Mechanisms in Hereditary Multiple Exostoses Syndrome:Defining the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying tumor formation and evaluating potential therapeutic strategies.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Targeting Activin A Signaling to Enhance Bone Repair:Elucidating the role of Activin A in bone regeneration and evaluating its potential as a therapeutic target to accelerate fracture healing.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Regulation of Heterotopic Ossifications and Possible Treatments:Determining whether targeting a newly identified protein can prevent heterotopic ossification and provide a new therapeutic strategy.

Why join us?

High-impact science: Cutting-edge basic and translational research focused on understanding skeletal disease and developing novel therapeutic approaches.
