For over 60 years, CareLink Community Support Services has been dedicated to helping people with disabilities to live in the community with dignity and independence. Our rehabilitation services and professional staff provide the support that people with serious mental illness, physical disabilities and other developmental challenges need to be active, productive members of their communities.

Available Shifts:

路 1st Shift , Monday through Friday , 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM聽


About the Role:

This role is responsible for the oversight of Residential Counselors in the absence of the Program Supervisor. This position provides oversight to the shift and ensures administrative supervision of the evening and/or overnight residential staff and the evening and/or overnight operations of the program.


What You鈥檒l Do:

路 Provide non-clinical leadership during shift including instruction, example, and suggestions as appropriate.聽

路 Ensure coverage for each shift through various means: asking on-duty employees to remain, calling staff roster, etc.

路 Provide adequate information exchange at end of shift with on coming supervisor or staff.

路 Plan shift operations of the site including shift assignments, reporting all problems to the Program Supervisor/Coordinator.

路 Assist in providing on orientation for new employees in agency鈥檚 and facilities philosophy, policies and procedures.

路 Participate in performance reviews for employee introductory, annual and interim evaluations

路 Participate in development and training of staff to improve quality of services provided to consumers.

路 Report all concerns regarding staff to Program supervisor/coordinator.

路 Attend and participate in supervision.

路 Coordinate the orientation of new consumers, take inventory of all personal items upon admission, and conduct introductions to staff and consumers.

路 Assist consumers in planning, coordination, implementation of daily, evening, and weekend social and recreational activities.

路 Participate in the development of individual service plans designed to improve the social and self care skills of program consumers.

路 Attend monthly case management meetings when appropriate.

路 Coordinate site meetings.

路 Review all documentation generated during the shift to ensure that work is accurate, complete and finished in a timely manner.

路 Monitor medication of all consumers as prescribe and document as required. Report all medication errors to Program supervisor/coordinator.聽

路 Prepare consumer鈥檚 progress reports and other reports as required.

路 Execute professional daily progress notes, log book entries and other related paperwork as required.

路 Respond appropriately to emergency situations and provide crisis intervention services.

路 Seek clinical support from the Program Supervisor during clinical emergencies.聽

路 Transport clients as necessary/appropriate.

路 Perform job within framework of agency, site and professional standards.

路 Participate in staff meetings and training programs.

路 Participate in supervision on an on-going basis.

路 Attend and participate in agency events.

路 Adhere to agency/site policies and procedures.

路 Project a positive attitude and image to consumers, family members and outside contacts.

路 Use appropriate communication channels.

路 Participate in achievement of agency goals and mission.

路 Display motivation and interest in working creatively with people with disabilities.

路 Demonstrate the ability to make sound judgements regarding the welfare of residents.

路 Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED聽

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of study: Human Services or related field

Preferred Work Experience: 2 to 3 years working in Human Services field or relevant life experience

路 Valid Driver鈥檚 License

路 CPRP/RPRP Certification (preferred)聽

路 Certified Peer Specialist (preferred)


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

路 Ability to lead and guide staff. Flexible, willing to learn, and anticipates the needs of self and staff.聽

路 Possess knowledge of basic principles and methods of rehabilitation.

路 Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

路 Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

路 Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive.

路 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

路 Ability to multitask and be flexible with regard to workload and assignments.
