Job Description
About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to own the full requirements-to-delivery cycle on our DWH and analytics platform. The role sits between business stakeholders and engineering: investigating data issues, translating requests into scoped specifications, and ensuring engineers can execute without follow-up. The right person has done this before, is comfortable working directly with SQL and data pipelines, and works autonomously without day-to-day oversight.
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements sessions with business stakeholders and operations users: ask the right questions, identify unstated assumptions, and define scope before work begins.
- Investigate data issues by tracing the flow from source tables through transformation layers to the reporting surface, and document findings clearly enough for an engineer to act on.
- Translate stakeholder requests into engineer-ready specifications: data structures needed, edge cases, and acceptance criteria.
- Document current data structures and platform behavior before defining what needs to change, so requirements reflect reality.
- Write user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria for platform enhancements.
- Help prioritize work with a product mindset, balancing business value, technical feasibility, and data quality.
- Validate delivered work against acceptance criteria and confirm what was built matches what was specified.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Experience in data warehousing, data modeling, or analytics engineering.
- Solid SQL skills and the ability to work comfortably with complex data structures.
- Ability to trace data through a pipeline from source to reporting layer and identify where something broke.
- Experience writing user stories, documenting requirements, and working closely with delivery teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to manage a workstream independently from stakeholder conversation through scoping, investigation, and engineering handoff.
Preferred Background
- Background as a Technical BA, Technical Analyst, or Systems Analyst in a data-heavy environment, with experience doing both SQL-level investigation and written requirements delivery.
- Exposure to healthcare and pharma data domains.
- Familiarity with modern DWH tooling such as Snowflake or DBT.
- Experience working in Agile teams with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
