The Operations Manager oversees daily operations for operating rooms and related perioperative areas across multiple hospital sites. This includes managing surgical schedules, optimizing room use, monitoring key performance indicators, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role involves supervising administrative staff, collaborating with clinical teams, managing budgets, and leading process improvement projects to enhance efficiency, patient flow, and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate daily operations of the OR, PACU & PreOp for our Level 1 Trauma Centers at TJUH, Methodist Hospital, Jefferson Health Neurosciences and the Honickman Center.
- Oversee surgical block schedule, room utilization to optimize throughput and minimize delays
- Monitor and manage KPIs, including cancellations rates, patient satisfaction rates and implement improvement initiatives as needed
- Partner with clinical leaders to ensure adequate staffing, equipment and supply readiness for scheduled and emergent cases.
- Administrative oversight of Endoscopy Procedural ASC at Bala Cynwyd
- Responsible for budget analysis for both capital and operational expenses.
- Develops reports that help assure that budget targets are met
- Has oversight of inventory management for the surgical sites, establishment of par levels, and development of procedures for procurement of surgical supplies.
- Conducts formal evaluation and implementation process for clinical product standardization and utilization, ensuring that clinical quality and cost savings goals are achieved.
- Work in collaboration with clinical department directors and nursing to insure the financial, operational, and clinical performance of products meets enterprise goals and objectives.
- Responsible for maintenance of Item Master within OR Information System.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in business with at least 3 years’ experience in materials management and budget analysis OR high school diploma with at least 5 years’ experience in materials management required.
- Materials management and budget analysis required, years of experience dependent upon level of education.
