HueDx is a fast-moving startup transforming diagnostics through AI-driven, smartphone-based technology that makes testing more accessible, accurate, and scalable. Our proprietary HueTools software and HueLab platform enable rapid development of quantitative colorimetric and fluorometric assays. The Associate Research Scientist will support both the development rapid diagnostic device pipelines internally as well as collaborate with our partners to translate their assays onto the Hue Platform.


Responsibilities

  • Perform bench work to develop metabolic assays on paper-based microfluidic IVD devices
  • Development of colorimetric chemistry for specific analytes with support from senior staff members
  • Work independently to design experiments for hypothesis testing
  • Utilize a broad spectrum of practical laboratory skills for colorimetric analysis
  • Conduct literature review for specific target compounds, structures related to target compound and determine specific conditions to improve colorimetric detection of target
  • Work cross-functionally and frequently with engineers and software development teams throughout research and development
  • Conduct laboratory operations following GLP and aseptic techniques.
  • Work with biological samples such as whole blood, serum and urine
  • Run experiments for pre-clinical and clinical trials, including calibration and various performance characteristics tests
  • Present findings to internal and external multi-disciplinary audiences with supervision
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices in the laboratory


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field and 0-2 years’ experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requires

  • Ability to use independent judgment to adapt and modify research concepts and approaches to specific projects
  • Ability to investigate, analyze information and draw conclusions
  • Knowledge of biochemistry, metabolic processes, and GLP
  • Knowledge of general lab techniques: UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, Titration, Chemical handling, Biospecimen handling/separation techniques

 

Pay Rate: $30/hr based on experience. Up to 30 hours/week between M-Th.
