What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will:
• Provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal goals.
• Promote independence, self-advocacy, dignity, and personal choice.
• Support individuals in developing life skills, communication skills, and social skills.
• Facilitate participation in recreational activities, educational opportunities, and community outings.
• Implement individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner.
• Monitor and communicate changes in health, behavior, or support needs to supervisors.
• Foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment.
• Assist with transportation and community integration activities as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Work collaboratively with individuals, families, team members, and community partners.

Qualifications
Required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to successfully complete required background checks and trainings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to providing person-centered supports
Preferred
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Human services, healthcare, education, or caregiving experience
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Experience with behavioral support strategies and community-based services
Schedule
• On-call/PRN
• Flexible schedules available
• Day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required based on program needs
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and assist individuals throughout the day
• Ability to lift, transfer, and support individuals as needed
• Ability to accompany individuals during community activities and outings
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
