Job DetailsJob Location: EHS Infant Toddler Learning Center PA 3920 N 5th St - Philadelphia, PA 19140Position Type: Part TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $17.86 - $31.13 HourlyTravel Percentage: Up to 25% JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for the supervision and coordination of assigned classroom; ensuring that it meets with Head Start Program Performance Standards and New Jersey/Pennsylvania Licensing Regulations.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Fulfills the following functions as well as support all classrooms.  The Substitute may have a temporary assignment to a classroom as teacher or teacher assistant, may float from classroom to classroom to provide breaks or other support, or may provide other supports to the classrooms. Plan and implement activities in an individual and developmentally appropriate manner for children in keeping with the philosophy and Performance Standards of Head Start, DOE requirements and the licensing requirements of New Jersey. Submit to the Child/Family Site Director and the Education Manager/Coordinator a curriculum-based lesson plan for the classroom each week. If assigned as teacher, observe, assess, screen, and document each child's growth and development in your class. Plan activities to meet the needs of individual children. Maintain accurate records in an individual folder and database for each child. If assigned as teacher, ensure that the process of providing service to children with special needs in the center is implemented.  If floating or assigned as teacher assistant, implement services as directed by teacher or management staff. Ensures the safety of all children by participating in monitoring of center, implementation of child safety procedures, reporting accidents, reporting child abuse or neglect, following Standards of Conduct and reporting any child health/safety concern to supervisor Prepare and maintain appropriate records and reports per position for which the Substitute is fulfilling. This may include maintaining classroom sign-in/out sheet. If assigned for significant period as a teacher, plan activities involving parents in the classroom and include activities which can be implemented in the home. Involve the Parent Committee or individual parents in educational planning sessions at least once a month. With experienced staff, visit the home of each child at least two (2) times within the program year. Prepare and conduct two (2) parent/teacher conferences within the program year. Attend training sessions and workshops provided by the program, including orientation and Peer-to-Peer Support. Assist in carrying out administrative duties as delegated by Head Teacher, Child/Family Site Director or Education Manager/Coordinator. This may include individual conferences on each staff member that interacts with the classroom or providing on-site training to center staff members as requested by Supervisors/Coordinators. Any other Head Start task as delegated by management.     QUALIFICATIONS Must have a minimum of a Child Development Associate which may be earned while training within Gateway.  To qualify for higher rates of pay a CDA, associate, baccalaureate or P-3 in early childhood is required as well as 4 to 12 months of early childhood classroom experience. Must meet or exceed the qualification requirements set forth in NJ and PA licensing standards Must have car available on a daily basis.    Qualifications
