Responsibilities

We are looking to hire a software developer/data scientist to provide support to various ship programs for the US Navy. In this role, you will support the Logistics Department, and will utilize expertise in statistics, machine learning, and data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data and develop predictive models and actionable insights. Typical responsibilities include collecting and cleaning data from various sources, performing exploratory data analysis to understand dataĀ characteristics and relationships, and applying statistical and machine learning algorithms to analyze data and extract insights and technicalĀ assistanceĀ in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.Ā You will also provideĀ expertiseĀ in system engineering and development to build database procedures, debuggingĀ protocolĀ and architecture design.Ā Ā 

Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and theirĀ missions’ to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensiveĀ logistics, and life-cycle savings.  

***This is a hybrid role, with a lot of remote work flexibility; however, we are looking for folks based in the Philadelphia, PA area so that they can come in for training and customer meetings as needed.

Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Participating inĀ customer technical meetingsĀ 
  • Collecting and cleaning data from various sources, performing exploratory data analysis to understand dataĀ characteristics and relationships, and applying statistical and machine learning algorithms to analyze data and extract insights
  • Helping design the system architecture for CSOSS Procedure Management and Publishing system (CSOSS MIS) Ā 
  • Developing Oracle database procedures and queries Ā 
  • Debugging the NAVLOGTD environment and consolidateĀ the databaseĀ 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience orĀ Master'sĀ degree and 3 years of experience.Ā 
  • Strong knowledge of Utilize C#,Ā javascript,Ā aspx,Ā sql, Python, R,Ā C/C++,Ā and xmlĀ 
  • Comfortable with modern software developmentĀ practicesĀ (e.g., Git, testing, debugging)Ā Ā 
  • Use Machine learning, Physics-based models, Predictive maintenance, Power trading, Product & Software development, Edge computing, semantic analysis, clustering analysisĀ 
  • Experience with Matplotlib,Ā Numpy, Pandas,Ā PGMpy, Scikit-learn, SciPyĀ 
  • Creating visualizations of data in clear, conciseĀ mannersĀ 
  • US Citizen and able to obtain secret clearance prior to startĀ

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this positionĀ is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
