*RadForce Technologists travels between Jefferson Health locations with a Premium/higher Pay Rates.

The Jefferson Health RadForce Team is a dynamic, internal workforce comprised of our most skilled technologists in all modalities. RadForce Technologists are strategically deployed across the Jefferson Health system to support areas with the highest demand - ensuring optimal care and operational efficiency.

Technologists will be hired into a tier based on distance traveled.

Tier 1: Float within 1 Region
Tier 2: Float between 2 Regions
Tier 3: Float between 3 Regions

Regions

North Region: Abington, Lansdale, Torresdale, Bucks, Frankford, and Einstein Montgomery

Central Region: TJUH, Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Methodist, and Einstein Main

East Region: Cherry Hill, Stratford, Washington Township

Job Description

Under the supervision of a radiologist, the CT Technologist performs Computerized Tomographic (CT) examinations on patients in accordance with established protocol and procedures.  Ensures the production of quality imaging and prepares pertinent patient information for physician and care team's review.  Delivers patient care and education before, during and after imaging procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

  • Operates CT scanners to produce radiographs according to departmental procedures; ensures the quality of pictures are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.

  • Ensures accurate positioning and proper preparation for patients during scanning procedures; conducts timely adjustments of patient position and/or medical dosages according to anatomical circumstances and other technical factors.

  • Demonstrates proper filming procedure and critiques films to ensure accuracy and clarity for physician interpretation.

  • Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection during the imaging process.

  • Creates hardcopy record of exam via CD-R, films and data transfer to PACS. Completes exams in Radiology Information System. Performs QC on exam in PACS to maintain system and billing accuracy.

  • Maintains CT Scanning equipment by performing scheduled cleaning, testing and documenting results; notifies supervision of malfunctioning equipment.

  • Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.

  • Responsible for maintaining continuing education required for licenses and job position.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

  • Knowledge of RIS systems

  • Knowledge of PAC’s systems

  • IV Certification

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program and documentation of formal CT program.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

  • CT Registry
