Emergency Medicine Boarded Description of required duties: Emergency Medicine Physician Inpatient: Back-up airway responsibilities in situations where anesthesiology is unable to assist with an intubation incredibly rare Outpatient: The site sees approximately 35000 visits with a 13.26 admission rate and a 4 transfer rate. 20 of patients are lt 18 y.o.. The site had 24/7 in-house OB-GYN and anesthesiology coverage. It holds a Level 4 trauma designation. Medivac services are available for critical transfers with a dispatch to door time averaging 8 minutes. Physicians should be prepared to manage all standard emergency medicine patients. Additionally physicians should be procedurally skilled and comfortable taking care of pediatric traumatically injured and critically ill patients. Procedures required: Standard emergency medicine procedures including but not limited to intubation chest tube insertion central line insertion minor procedures and FAST examination. Supporting staff: 36 hours of APC coverage every day. Schedule: 12 shifts / month Hours: Hazleton Mon-Fri: 7am-5 pm 12pm- 10 pm 4pm- 1 am 10pm- 7 am Sat-Sun: 7am-7pm 11am- 11pm 7pm-7am Call: No call required Volume: Hazleton 35k Cost Center: 30-356 for Hazleton Location Hazleton Schuylkill Pocono Lehigh: Hazleton Physical Address: Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton 700 East Broad Street Hazleton PA 18201 Assignment Length: 6 months-1 year Credentialing requirement: The Credentialing process takes up to 90 days from submission for candidates with an active PA license.
