The Pharmacy Informatics Manager is the resident expert in the use of automated dispensing unit technology systems. Maintains overall responsibility for the systems and daily operational integrity of the technology. Works closely with pharmacy staff, information systems, and nursing managers to operationalize practices and implement new processes and technology. Provides leadership and supervision of daily operations to assigned pharmacy team, including the Technology Systems Specialists across all divisional campuses. Responsibilities:
- Oversees the automated dispensing unit technology, centralized distribution technology and BCMA technology used throughout TJUH, Inc. Assists with re-engineering workflow and daily operations to optimize use of technology.
- Coordinates the implementation, testing, expansion and upgrade of automated technology systems and processes to assure the quality and continuity of Pharmacy services throughout the division.
- Responsible for all human resources and personnel activity for Technology Systems Specialists, including scheduling, performance management, training and development, etc.
- Assumes primary responsibility for managing the automated technology user database, facilitating issuance and control of new ID access. Deletes users as appropriate. Maintains HIPAA database for terminations.
- Develops and leads planning efforts to monitor the ongoing functionality of all automation, training, effectiveness of loading and refilling procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Provides and coordinates education of automated technology services to pharmacy,nursing and other clinical staff. Works with team to respond to services inquiries from staff.
- Manages all technology and equipment vendor relationships and contracts, serving as the primary vendor contact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Licensed as a pharmacist (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Three (3) years progressive hospital pharmacy experience required.
- Advanced Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy preferred. Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
