Job DetailsJob Location: Wampum Hardware Co - Philipsburg - Philipsburg, PA 16866Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: Construction As a Driller, you are essential to the success of each job we are on. This position involves being outside in all weather conditions, lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds of product and other materials as needed, and frequently requires squatting and bending. As a new employee, you will complete a 24-hour MSHA Part-48 training course with one of our instructors and be given Hazmat training. You will often complete a 10-hour OSHA course and be trained on various State requirements. We want you to know what you are doing. Your normal day will start off by driving to the drill bench which is often construction like terrain. Once there you set up, inspect and service your drill. Once satisfied you will operate your drill by monitoring the drill controls as well as the progress of the drilling operation, to ensure that everything is working correctly. You will fill out a drill log that shows the Blaster in Charge the condition of the holes and brief him. Remember, safety is always a priority whether you are drilling or assisting the Blaster in Charge with site preparation and equipment setup. You should report customer concerns, equipment, or mechanical failures immediately to the Blaster in Charge. After completion, you will inspect and service your drill to ensure it is ready for the next job and contact the Manager. If you have recommendations to improve the operations let him know. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. Physical ability to lift, up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis. Have strong team-working skills and access to reliable transportation. Must meet requirements of all State and Federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor. A CDL with a clean driving record is preferred and may be required depending on location. Mechanical ability and willingness to learn is a plus. Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and background checks conducted by Wampum Hardware and the ATF. Ability to follow all of Wampum Hardware Co policies and procedures.
