Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and consumer-focused Handyperson/Maintenance Technician to join our vibrant team and contribute to the overall maintenance, satisfaction and well-being of our employees, clients & residents. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall well-being of our properties and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for employees, clients & residents.

Location: Phillipsburg, NJ

Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week, with occasional required overtime)

Pay: $22.00/hour

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist in maintaining Norwescap's portfolio of Properties - including commercial, retail and residential buildings.

-Maintain the property's aesthetic appeal and perform routine tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, encompassing activities such as making repairs and meticulously detailing common areas, including hallways, lobbies, and recreation spaces, outdoor grounds and landscaping clean and well-maintained.

-Perform routine maintenance and repairs - including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and carpentry tasks.

-Assist in snow and ice removal during inclement weather and put out / remove rain mats to ensure safe pathways for employees & residents.

-Work closely with the Facilities Director to address repairs, painting, water intrusion cleanup, damage and other related service requests.

-Clean out vacant units & prepare for apartment turns.

-Paint and complete drywall repairs to maintain a fresh and appealing appearance throughout the property.

-Comply with workplace safety and OSHA regulations.

-Must be present on-site and be able to move throughout the buildings to address building-related matters and meet with tenants, staff and vendors.

-Ability to ascend and descend stairs, as well as positioning oneself in small spaces for building inspections and maintenance repairs and lifting and moving large or heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

-High School diploma or equivalent and / or previous experience in a similar role is preferred.

-Ability to operate and maintain landscaping and maintenance equipment.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

-Must be comfortable with exposure to varying environmental climates and circumstances.

-Be available for on-call duties and respond to emergency maintenance requests outside regular working hours.

-Valid Driver's License required
