LIHEAP Program Coordinator

$27.00 - $30.00 hour | 40 hours per week

Summary/Objective:

Norwescap is seeking a dedicated LIHEAP Program Coordinator who will Supervises the procedures and production quality of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance and Universal Services staff. Assures the operations and regulations of LIHEAP/USF maintain production goals set by the Housing and Community Development Senior Director. Directly participates in administrative and programming strategy that improves quality control, production and workflow procedures. Requires in-depth knowledge of programming and organizational procedures and overall knowledge of agency mission.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and implement the policy and procedures for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance and Universal Service Fund; quality control the work of the program staff based on the measures of production and procedural efficiency

  •  Implement program goals and monitor progress based on capacity of program knowledge of LIHEAP policies and procedures identify and resolve operational problems

  • Supervise and participates in quality control of applications for completeness and accuracy; determine necessary factors to correct errors, coordinate fair hearings and other administrative appeal processes.

  • Participates in the adjudication of LIHEAP/USF applications in accordance with the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs LIHEAP/USF regulations.

  • Supervise and maintain the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance and Universal Services Fund policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for relaying client fiscal concerns of overpayment or incorrect payment allotments, emergency assistance funds to the Statement of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and check replacements

  • Maintain a professional relationship with all vendors, community partners and other human service agencies to assure quality control of program participation, resolve

    community or vendor complaints within the boundaries of the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs policies.

  • Assist the Housing and Community Development Program Director with establishing best practices throughout the grant year, create corrective action procedures to resolve issues, develop schedules and establish priorities or modifications during the grant year and assist with program/project planning and development to bring in new funders

  • Aids other programs in the Housing and Community Development department if needed

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, public administration, political science, business administration or closely related field

  • 2-5 years management experience

  • A combination of work experience, training or some college that is equivalent to the employee standard listed

  • Driver's licens

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc. However, this position may require occasional site visits for specific need
